Demi Lovato is returning to “The X Factor.”

The singer has signed on for Season 3 of the singing competition, it was announced on Thursday.

“I am so excited to return as a judge and mentor onThe X Factor,” said Lovato in a statement. “Last season was an unbelievable experience and I really enjoyed developing personal relationships with the contestants and the panel.”

She added, “I look forward to taking my previous experience and applying it to make this season even better.”

After the departures of fellow panelists Britney Spears and L.A. Reid, only Lovato and judge-producer Simon Cowell remain from last year.

“I couldn’t be happier that Demi wants to come back this year,” said Cowell. “She’s a superstar in her own right and was a fantastic mentor last year.”

He joked, “Even though she can be really, really annoying – I truly enjoyed working with her and so did the artists. I’m especially pleased she’s back even during her world tour!”

Demi Lovato shared a very personal piece of information on WBLI’s “Dana & Jeffrey” show on Tuesday, revealing she has a secret sister that she just recently found out about.

Asked if there was something she wanted to divulge before the gossip sites got a hold of it, the “Heart Attack” singer said, “I have an older sister that I’ve never known my whole life. She’s in her 30s. She’s my half-sister but I talked to her for the very first time in my life around when I turned 20.”

Lovato, whose estranged from her father, added, “I asked her, I said ‘Why haven’t you ever contacted me?’ and she just said ‘Well because I never wanted you think that I wanted anything from you… I’ve just been kinda of waiting to see if you wanted a relationship.’”

“I just thought that was so incredible… I have a third sister that I didn’t know until this year,” she shared.
